This policy sits alongside the Agreement to Mediate and Terms of Business, which govern our contract with you; where the two differ, the Terms of Business apply. Current fees are set out in our Price List.
Notice period for cancelling or rescheduling
4 or more business days’ notice: full refund, or the amount is carried forward to your rescheduled appointment.
3 business days’ notice: 50% of the fee for that appointment is due; the remaining 50% is carried forward if you rebook.
Less than 3 business days’ notice: the full fee for the appointment is due, and no refund is given unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Late arrival
If you arrive late, the session still ends at its scheduled time, and the time lost is charged to you at the mediator’s standard hourly rate, in 30-minute increments.
No-shows
If you do not attend a scheduled appointment without giving notice, the full fee is forfeited and no refund is due.
Document review, drafting, and certificates
Fees for document review, drafting, and certificate work are not refundable once the work has begun, reflecting the time already committed.
Discretion
We may reduce or waive a cancellation fee in cases of genuine emergency or circumstances beyond your control. Any reduction is at Start Afresh Mediation’s sole discretion and must be agreed in writing before it applies.
