Workplace mediation for diverse, multicultural and multilingual teams

Mediation support for employers across the UK, delivered in person or online, wherever your team is based.

When conflict crosses a cultural or language line

Conflict between colleagues is now one of the most common triggers for formal workplace grievances in the UK. Research from Acas shows that close to half of working-age adults in Great Britain experience conflict at work each year, and employer studies consistently place colleague disputes behind around half of all grievances raised.

In workplaces with international or multilingual teams, that conflict often carries an extra layer. What reads as bluntness may be directness. What reads as disengagement may be a different way of showing respect.

I bring mediation skills built over years of practice together with legal training and professional experience across Poland, the UK and Canada, and full fluency in English and Polish, to help colleagues move past that noise and reach a resolution that holds.

What I offer

Employee to employee mediation

When conflict between two colleagues is affecting the working relationship and informal conversations have stalled, mediation offers a confidential, structured route to resolution before matters escalate into a formal grievance.

Manager and employee mediation

Where trust between a manager and a team member has broken down, a neutral, professionally facilitated conversation can rebuild a working relationship that internal processes alone often cannot repair.

Team and group mediation

When tension has spread beyond two people and is affecting a whole team, group facilitation addresses the conflict at the level it is actually happening.

Conflict coaching for managers

One to one coaching gives managers the skills and confidence to recognise and address conflict early, before it needs formal intervention.

Why work with me

I am a fully accredited mediator, originally trained in family mediation, where much of my work involves emotionally charged conversations, sometimes between people who share the same cultural background and language, and sometimes across cultural and language differences.

Before moving into mediation, I built a broad professional background across Poland, the UK and Canada, working across legal and language-related roles in all three countries.

This combination of legal training, cross-border professional experience and full fluency in English and Polish equips me to quickly recognise when language, culture or differing expectations are shaping a conflict, and to work with those dynamics in a constructive, practical way.

How it works

  1. A short call with you. We talk through what is happening, who is involved, and whether mediation is the right fit.
  2. Individual conversations. I meet each person separately, so they can speak freely before anyone sits down together.
  3. The joint session. A structured, confidential conversation aimed at a workable resolution, not a verdict.
  4. The outcome. As standard, I provide a written summary of what’s been agreed, from an independent mediator rather than HR or colleague notes.

In-person sessions are the norm for workplace mediation, with travel arranged to wherever your team is based; a travel contribution applies outside Bristol. Online sessions can be arranged where that suits the situation better.

Who this is for

Employers of any size who want to resolve conflict early, without it turning into a formal grievance or an exit, particularly workplaces with international or multilingual teams, where a generalist mediator may miss what is actually being communicated.

Frequently asked questions

What is workplace mediation?

A confidential, structured conversation between colleagues, facilitated by an independent mediator, aimed at resolving conflict without it becoming a formal grievance or disciplinary process.

Do you provide workplace mediation outside Bristol?

Yes. In-person sessions can be arranged anywhere in the UK, with a travel contribution outside Bristol. Online sessions are also available where that suits better.

Is workplace mediation only available in person?

No, though in-person is the norm for this type of mediation, with the mediator visiting your workplace. Online sessions can be arranged where that suits better, for cost or convenience.

How much does workplace mediation cost?

Cost depends on the number of people involved, how many sessions are needed, and whether the work is in person or online. A tailored quote is provided after a short initial call.

Is the workplace mediation process confidential?

Yes. Individual conversations remain confidential unless the person agrees otherwise, and the joint session is treated as a confidential space for everyone involved.

Do you only work with multicultural or multilingual teams?

No. I work with any employer experiencing workplace conflict. Multicultural and multilingual teams are a particular area of strength, given my background across three countries and fluency in English and Polish, but the service is not limited to them.

How long does the workplace mediation process take?

In my experience, most cases are resolved in a single day of meetings, once everyone involved has agreed to take part. More complex or multi-party cases can take longer.
